Nigeria is currently in a very sorry state, that's the truth nobody can deny. We're all well aware of all the setbacks we're facing currently as a country, there's really no need recounting all our lamentations over and over again, that seems to be all we do. We spend the greater part of our time talking negatively about Nigeria, how she's a failure and can never get better. Some of us even go as far as asking God why He sent us here in the first place. Isn't it then ironic how we say all these, even on social media for the whole world to see, and then get bitter when international reports slander us? We then continue talking negatively about her, this time using these international reports as the bases for our arguments. Am I the only who sees the vicious cycle here? We should be thinking of ways to ameliorate the situation, but wait, isn't that what we've always said from time immemorial? What fruits have all those speeches borne? I've heard most of my friends say time and again that things will be better during our time. Our time? What time is our time?
There could be no better time than now to start making a difference, we can't keep procrastinating. Whatever Nigeria is today may not necessarily be majorly of our own making, but certainly what Nigeria will become tomorrow depends largely on what we're able to do today. Let's first be the change that we want to see in our country. If everyone of us makes conscious effort to impact even the slightest positive change in and around our individual selves you'd be amazed how much better this country would be.
Love Nigeria, pray for Nigeria, confess positively about Nigeria, open your eyes to all the good that could still come out of Nigeria! Like I said earlier today on Facebook, Patriotism, just like marriage, should be for better, for worse. Nigerian I am, Nigerian I forever will be. I'm optimistic that things are getting better already even if from what I see it seems the reverse is the case. I love my country, I pray nothing ever changes that. So Nigerian and proud? What do you think?
This is certainly inspiring.
