Happy Birthday to Me!

Where are the right words when you need them?

There’s a ton of infinitely valuable lessons I have been reminded of this past year, but none more important than the fact that God loves me unconditionally. None more reassuring either!

Little wonder I feel so immersed in love and gratitude this morning.

I’m thankful for every one of the last 365 days, because even if there wasn’t a clear cut victory at the end of any one of them, there was a lesson to take away. I’m also super thankful for the spectacular family and friends that I’ve been blessed with.

But I’m particularly thankful for the gift of today – Friday, September 29, 2017. You know why?

Even when you’re not actively spending good time thinking about the thousands of better decisions you could have made in your past, it’s pretty easy to get so caught up with making plans and preparing yourself for the future that you fail to fully appreciate the present and make the best of it.

So even if I don’t have the biggest turn up of my entire existence today (and who's to say I won't? 😁) I have every intention of going to bed with a great sense of fulfillment and satisfaction when the day’s over.

For everyone who’s been asking what the agenda for today is, well, there you have it!

I’ll allow myself soak up all the love that accompanies the good wishes and felicitations I receive today. I’ll let myself be appreciated. I’ll do my best to truly savour even the most fleeting of moments, and you know the best part?

It doesn’t even have to be perfect!

To everyone who has made the last one year of my life so phenomenal and remarkable, you already know you mean the world to me, right? Thank you so much for adding so much colour to my world, and let’s do it again this year.

My name is Michael Egbuna and, today, the world is my oyster!
