Dear friend, have you ever encountered situations where it seemed there was no glimmer of hope in sight? When you were convinced the whole world was moving without you? When no one seemed to care, or even notice, that you needed help? When each and ever door that once was open doesn't just seem closed, but like it never even existed at all? Well I know I most certainly have had times that felt even much worse than these, times when it seemed the road had come to a premature end. So the question is, what do you do when all else fails?
Lots of situations could lead to greater despair than the human mind can possibly imagine, much greater despair. Death of a loved one, terminal illness, abuse of any kind, disappointment, failure, loss of something extremely precious and valuable...name it! No one may really understand what you may be going through when these things happen. It might seem like your whole world is crumbling right before your very eyes. You might become so hurt physically, emotionally and/or otherwise that you become suicidal. Dear friend, at this point, where there's nowhere to turn to and no one to talk to, it's time to look up. It's time to talk to God!
It's funny how prayer is usually our last resort at times like these. When the going's all smooth and rosy no one really remembers to talk to God. Once things take a turn for the worse and it seems hopeless, we run back to Him crying. But guess what? He doesn't mind! In fact, there's nothing He wants more than to hear your voice, to see you still acknowledge that you need Him. He probably allowed those tests and trials get to you for a reason in the first place, doubt it? Jeremiah 29:11-14, emphasis on 14, should give you some insight. No seriously, I'd really appreciate it if you could read that up before you continue. So you see? Pour it all out to Him, every little bit of it, and watch how He takes care of it. No, I'm not typing this this cloudy, cold Sunday evening just because the Priest said so in Church earlier today, or because I've read stories in the Good Book that tell me so, but because I have experienced it first hand. Not once, not twice, not even thrice.
Believe in God, have faith in Him and His promises, learn to talk to Him no matter how major or minor you consider your problem to be, and watch how He'll be with you every step of even that seemingly impossible journey. Glad I could bring you a little of The Gospel this evening friend.
Peace!
Its funny how I feel holier on saturdays than sundays,I guess it's because I talk to Him on saturdays and more or less praise him on sundays.my point however is the way I feel after our little "talk"-free!, thus reiterating your point about Him being the best person to talk to not just in times of trouble, but when you ever feel lonely.I'm sure the gospel Is glad you shared it too.

DeleteAnd yet to some prayer is so difficult,a drag is felt when the call is up for a chat with the divine.. its very important for us to know that we can convert every single action, every single activity and every single moment of our lives into a chat with God,offering everything we do to him, having a picture of a saint it of the cross around us to remind us of his presence when we are going about our daily tasks and then doing them perfectly too,in fact sanctifying our daily work, talking to him about our friends, about the poor, especially as we do good things for them, this way,we do not need to wait for the next church bell or the next Saturday or Sunday to be alive in his presence, may Gid help us do this
